Background

David Johns has worked extensively in the areas of public liability, product liability, professional indemnity, industrial special risks, contract works and business interruption claims.

He has extensive experience in acting on behalf of insurers for claims against insureds, and advising on policy wording and interpretation.

David has provided significant ancillary advice to both insurers and their clients in industrial law and workers compensation, appearing regularly in the Industrial Relations Commission and Industrial Relations Tribunal.

David has been a keynote speaker at a number of seminars conducted by Lawson Smith for insurers, addressing concerns about decisions and amendments to legislation, and providing general advice on claims management and risk minimisation.

David has been vice president of the South Australian United Church Netball Association since February 2007.

David was Chairman, Veterinary Surgeons Board August 1993 to August 2002.
