Admissions

Victoria is due to be admitted as a solicitor in South Australia in October 2009. She has been admitted in England and Wales since 2004.

Background

Victoria’s early career experience was in the United Kingdom. It includes working with leading litigation practice Barlow Lyde and Gilbert on a range of injury liability matters including industrial diseases, general insurance, and housing claims as well as professional indemnity and commercial litigation matters.

Victoria is an experienced insurance litigator, originally admitted in the United Kingdom, with a background in injury liability and professional indemnity work.

Her experience in Australia spans WorkCover claims, professional indemnity for solicitors and accountants, and public liability matters.

Victoria has a great skill and experience in:

  • successfully representing insurers at mediations and settlement conferences
  • providing detailed reports to insurers and self insurer clients
  • advising on appropriate reserves and settlement options
  • conducting, coordinating and reporting on detailed investigations and obtaining witness statements with other expert investigators.

Recently, she has worked on complex professional indemnity and workers compensation claims for a variety of insurance companies and self-insurers.

Her recent injury liability caseload has included asbestos claims, muscular and skeletal injuries, deafness, trips and slips, motor and travellers claims as well as catastrophic injury matters.

For professional indemnity insurers, Victoria has recently resolved solicitors and accountant’s negligence claims in the areas of fraud and defamation.
